“I’m sorry hun.”

What does it mean? Were they trying to be sarcastic? Or are they really sorry I feel this way? What does “hun” means anyways? Honey?

Hmm. I prefer the term “honeybuns” myself.

Evokes mental images of puffy sweet pastry hot out of the oven. Plus, the drooling Homer Simpson-like food stupor it induces in me makes me forget any patronizing connotation intended by its use in a conversation.
