She really wants to get married; soon!
She is well educated, smart and very pretty. What;s bothering is that suddenly she turned out to be this girl who would try anything and everything for the sake of getting married. Few weeks back, I asked why does she feel like she “needs” to be married. One of her answers were that she wants to hang out with her married friends and their husbands!
Tonight, she asked me how can she make a certain person fall for her. “If I knew how, you would probably not see me sitting next you right now”, I replied. She doesn’t know how he looks like, where he works, what school he went to, or anything else. All she was told was his name and that he owns his own company and that he would make a good match; and I thought men were the ones to look for girls not the other way around.
Why would one want to get married? I still cannot understand.
PS: He is confusing me.

Hmm.. “security” on all levels! It’s that feeling of being “owned” by a man is what makes me want to get married & the fact that I need a baby girl!

and they say that divorce rate in kuwait has reached an epidemic proportion!! geee I wonder why?
People get married for all sorts of reasons these days. Most of them have nothing to do with love, respect or caring for the soul of someone, but for egotistical and shallow ones that seem to fulfill some sort of ego need: ” Oh I married a lawyer, Oh I married a doctor, Oh I married a Hayfa Wahbe lookalike who is 15 years younger, Oh, I married the guy who owns his company and drives a porsche”…
Or: its time to settle down and enter married life. Whatever that entails or means. Find a candidate and get the job done.
I wish I had a good and certain or uplifting answer for you regarding marriage but I don’t. I just think people these days especially in our country slip into and out of it for all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with anything except convenience and timing.
I don’t know whether I should be really sad this is so or whether I should be jaded enough to forget feeling sad and just accept it and move on…
