The Closet Dilemma

Shopa (Running toward the study room): Muuuuuuum! Mum! MUM! I have a serious problem!
Mum: Yes? I’m busy; get to the point.
Shopa: My closet has no more space. I’m running out of space. You got to help me.
Mum: Oh sure sure. I have a solution, an easy one too.
Shopa: Which is?
Mum: You stop shopping
Shopa: Huh?
Mum: You stop shopping hence you don’t need more space for new items. Simple yes?
Shopa: No! I need new clothes. I don’t have enough.
Mum: You do? Ha? You never have enough clothes, do you?
Shopa: Never!
Mum: Okay! I have a better idea.
Shopa: aha?
Mum: We empty your closet and give a call XX charity to come pick up everything.
Shopa: What? NO!
Mum: What now? If you need new clothes, then you don’t need the old ones. You might as well give them to charity.
Shopa: No, I want my old stuff.
Mum: Let me get this straight, you want your old stuff and buy new things; right?
Shopa: Yup.
Mum: and the problem is?
Shopa: I don’t have enough space in my closet. Literally, there is no space for one more top.
Mum: But you don’t want to give away your old clothes?
Shopa: I don’t have anything I don’t want. I already gave away stuff like a month ago.
Mum: and you don’t want to stop shopping?
Shopa: Nope.
Mum (with a nasty look): How about you get lost back to your room? NOW!
Shopa: Alright, alright! Why do you have to yell?

Dad (Entering the study room): Why is she upset?
Shopa (Leaving): She doesn’t get the hint about the closet.
Dad: I told you she won’t.
Shopa: What to do now?
Dad: This should work……….!

    Judy,
I agree! I’d love to shop for you.

    Peony,
Well, I have a solution but it will take a while

    Swair,
our plan evolves around the same idea

    Zahra,
The rule is:”if it has been over 3 months you haven’t worn the item then you throw it out”

I have “closet culls” several times a year. Some of the clothes I give away still have the tags on them. I have tried to psychoanalyze myself and I blame it on my mother. My mother always taught us to wear quality clothes and people see you as a quality person. So, psychologically, I associate quantity of quality as better. See the reason?

    Get bigger closets.

Lucky clothes to be under your care.

You know what i usually do with my clothes with my tinny closets don’t fit?
I put them in bags and store them for two months, then i go shopping in there :)
