Do You Know Her? Yeh, She is a Blogger.

I fought against myself many times before to not blog about this particular though today, I can’t fight the urge.

There is a good reason why I don’t blog using my real identity. It’s not because I am afraid that certain people would know it’s me because I believe that if someone wants to know, they would know, whether I like it or not. If you know me in real life, you would know I am an open book and most of stuff I blog about is somehow an old news.

In the past few years, I chose (Note the CHOSE) to let few people know it’s actually me. Many people approached me asking if Shopa is me and I always admitted. Don’t you believe me? Ask Papi and Shurouq. I even passed around the url of this blog to some friends and family members. At the same time, I’ve known for a long time that many people knew who the real Shopa from a way or another, some of them are friends, family and people I work with. I appreciated the fact that they “Pretend” to not know. I, on the other hand pretend to not know their blog identities out of respect for their privacy.

We live in a small world where everyone knows everyone. It didn’t take me long to figure out who some bloggers are (from writing style, private life, etc) yet I have never approached other bloggers asking if they knew who that person is and when they decline I would spread the word.

For the people who do that, you know who you are. I dedicate this post to you; you will probably not stop doing it and again if you really know the real me, you’d know I don’t care. Hence, stop pretending to be a true blogger friend when you are not.

Thats why i use my real name :D
eliminate all that drama, it removes the excitement of trying to know who i am, unless, unless, i am not who i say i am……

Are you emotionally attached to your blog? Why don’t you start a new blog, having the liberty to write whatever you want is a great privilege one should consider seriously. And I think if you wouldn’t care you wouldn’t have blogged about it in the first place.

i think hidden identities, although mine is not, are intriguing…there is a certain aura to them…nice to write to minds, no bodies, no previous baggage, only minds of others..
ignore and go on, you are doing the right thing
    all the best
    :)

    Yazeed,
I don’t think your real name is Yazeed!

    Barouqe,
    you will know soon

    Blasha,
    and that is you?

    MiniR,
    You look familiar? Hmmm

    Swair,
    Good ;*

    error,
I don’t see the point behind deleting a blog and restarting a new because just as people knew about this one they would find out about the next one, and the next one. and yes I feel attached to this blog.

    Alia,
    Sheftay! ;*

    white wings,
    That’s what I’m doing

LOL.. its hard to believe anyone would be called Yazeed..but i think Yazeed (yazeez) is actually a Yazeed….

we had to fight for it, and believe me he fought harder than i did

i know the true identity of some bloggers.. however, like u, i pretend not to know.. if they wanted me to know, they’d tell me.. so i figure i’d give them their space..

people ehom i want to know, i’ve informed of my blog… and that’s what people need to understand.. if someone wanted their identity to be known, they would’ve either pulled a Yazeed, or told them about it. If either case did not happen, let people be!

I agree with you on this post. I know the identity of alot of bloggers, but I do not reveal it because they don’t want to be known.

I actually feel privalged that they’d wish to share their identity to me, that level of trust.

For years, I never revealed my true identity, I did so only to a handful of people. Now with facebook, I’ve let a few bloggers into my ‘real identity’ and I’m fine with that, however, I’d still love some anonminity between the two!

اتفق معك بأن الكويت صغيرة و اللي صج يبي يعرف راح يعرف

انا من بدايتي ما كانت تفرق معاي و الحين صارت رسمية

I would feel so betrayed. It’s kind of like going to a masquerade ball; the etiquette is to pretend you don’t recognize anyone. We have reasons for our masks, transparent as they may be. I’m sorry that happened to you, Shopa.
