Slippers on the floor, crossed legs on the arm chair, jacket covering the body just like a blanket, one hand holding the coffee cup and the other having her romance novel. Christmas songs playing in the background of the coffee shop; cell phone on the small table by the arm chair; a beep of a text message with which her heart beeped. It wasn’t him.
The door opens and a couple comes in. She looks around, couples are all she could see. “The Holidays”, she thinks to herself. She wonders why is she lonely when surrounded by friends. Another text message beep, and once again her heart beeps. “Not even close” she thinks. It’s raining, looking through the foggy window. “I should go home and pack” she decides.
“Next year all our trouble will be out of sight….have yourself a merry little Christmas” Frank sang. She smiles to the thought. “Next year all our trouble will be miles away”. She agrees.

all too familiar… akrah shay that phone beep that plays tricks with u! and every time u try to force urself to be realistic, all it takes is another beep for u to feel like a fool again.
i miss the states during the holiday season.. it’s such a different atmosphere… of course, suicide rates increase during the holidays, but that’s another story all together! =)
