I was thinking about the many things I own, and how I can be very attached to some of them. No matter how many bags are sitting in my closet, there is always this one bag that I can be wearing day and night. Don’t give me the look; I know you do just the same, we all do.
Anyhow, so the thought led me yet to another thought; that is sharing my favorite items with you. I just realized that I have A LOT of favorite things. I guess I get easily attached to things.
So today’s Shopa’s favorite item is : (TAAAAAATAAAAA)
It’s my Polar RS200sd Running Computer, aka heart rate monitor watch.
I just love it. Why do I? Well, I was very frustrated with that I used to run on the treadmill for hours everyday and not lose all the fat. Weight was going down which is great, right? Not really. I wasn’t happy about it because yes I was weighing less but the fat is still there. Sugar, water and muscles were going away but not the fat.
You see, all those PE classes during school never taught us a thing about “target zones”. I always assumed that if I ran as fast as I could for the longest time, I’d be loosing those few extra pounds. But I was proven wrong again.
Since I got my polar HRM, I’ve been working out way less than I used to; and still managed to lose some pounds. It also gives a much accurate readings of the calorie count which is just great. It tells me how fast I should go and more importantly when to stop working out.
I can program it to different exercises so it works just like a personal trainer. It also saves a log of all your exercises. I like the idea of reading a report on how good I worked out this week compared to last week! It also has other features such as fitness test and computer connectivity.
I like the fact that it comes in different models and colors. I hate boring black heart rate monitors; and cost wise? I can’t really remember how much I spent on mine, but I think it was around $130.
Well, that’s it, one of my favorite things at the moment. Don’t get so excited, I’m NOT Oprah so no one is going home with free HRM!

I’m not possessed with devils. Working out is healthy and don’t worry people like me will always have the curves.
