طالب عدد من النواب بإدخال بعض التعديلات على مرسوم قانون الجنسية بحيث يتمكن المولود من أم كويتية وأب غير كويتي من اكتساب الجنسية الكويتية عند بلوغه سن الرشد وبناء على طلبه شرط ان يكون ابوه مسلماً بالميلاد اصلاً ومنتمياً الى بلد عربي او من غير محددي الجنسية.
جاء ذلك في اقتراح بقانون لتعديل بعض أحكام مرسوم قانون الجنسية تقدم به النواب د. عواد برد وخالد العدوة وحسين مزيد ومخلد العازمي وعبدالله عكاش

Dear Mr. Barad, what if a non-Muslim Kuwaiti woman got married to a non-Muslim Arab man? Shouldn’t she have rights just like any other Kuwaiti woman?
Oh hold on, we can’t really do that, can we?! Why not? Because she is not Muslim!
I totally forgot that The Kuwaiti Constitution encourages discrimination based on Religion!

Is it mention in the Quran that Muslim men by birth are better than Muslim men by choice?
Oh, and Mr. Akash, you don’t believe that non-Arab Muslim people are as good as you? Maybe you’re right, they are way better that you are.

There are Christian Kuwaitis and Jewish Kuwaitis. Very small minority.
WOW THATS NEWS TO ME. ARE THEY ALLOWED TO PRACTICE THEIR RELIGIONS OPENLY? DO THEY HOLD KUWEITI PASSPORTS OR ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT FOREIGNERS LIVING THERE?

Oh and I don’t think there are Jewish Kuwaitis anymore, but Christians are still here.
As far as I know, there are no Jewish Kuwaitis, but yeh there are some Kuwaiti Christians and yes they hold a kuwaiti passport. They are allowed to practice their religion openly. There are many churches in Kuwait.
No, I have been told that there are still Jewish Kuwaitis in Kuwait.

i’m also for the following:
-giving all foreigners that have been born in kuwait and brought up in kuwait to get a kuwaiti nationality..
many foreigners i know call kuwait their home and country and feel like their country of citizenship to be the foreign country..
what do you tell those?
no you can’t have the passport, u’re not kuwaiti..

They think they’re better than everyone, like elite untouchable beings, when all they are is sheep - mindless, thoughtless, blind followers who can’t think to save their lives
Many nonKuwaiti’s here are prouder and contribute much more to Kuwait than any other Kuwaiti, why should they be denied the priviledge. Same goes to the university, so Kuwaiti’s get to study everywhere but other nationatlities can’t study here?
I wish someone would just kick some sense into them
you know I’m kind of happy and sad at the same time…because I’m glad that finally the issue of a Kuwaiti women who are married to non-Kuwaitis are getting some of their rights but you are totally right about the discrimination between Muslims and non Muslims.
Watever. There are enough kuwaitis as there is and the country is close to the max capacitiy of Kuwaiti citizens.. so if there r certain ‘restrictions’ on what a person must have to recieve citzenship then so be it. O secondly, religion is an important factor in granting citizeship in a MUSLIM country, mo minee wi6ireej anyone can convert (and they could easily lie about it a-la-immigrants-marrying-for-a-green-card way) and get a citizenship the next day.
